This question wouldn’t have even been conceivable ten years ago. We’ve all seen the old work that has stayed on forever but has turned a strange blue. None of us wanted that but quess what? It’s all different now.
In years past, there weren’t special pigment formulations for permanent make-up. Instead, traditional carbon based tattoo ink was used which lasts much longer and often fades to an unflattering color. Today, pigments made especially for the face are more color specific and require less mixing. They also heal more color specific and fade over time. Clients can choose to let them fade out, usually to a light gray or get them touched up every 12-18 months for bold results every time.
Machines for permanent make-up are now much more delicate on the skin. With lower vibrations and softer sounds, it’s not so scary to get these procedures around the face. This is especially ideal for permanent eyeliner, or eyelash enhancement, as it is also known.
So is permanent eyeliner right for you? Well, that depends on a few factors. Do you like to wear eyeliner but hate applying it? Would you like to wake up with it already on? You may be a good candidate. Are your eyelids highly vascular (veiny)? You may not be a good candidate. Are you comfortable with beauty procedures and know you can relax for 60-90 minutes of detailed work? You might be a candidate. Are you someone who is overly nervous or anxious? You are NOT a candidate.
Permanent make-up can be very rewarding as many of us are always looking to save time. While there is very little down time for this procedure, we do recommend no sun, swimming, sweating or saunas for two weeks and to come back for the six week perfecting service.
